My Newest Feature is Colette

Our theme for this feature is PEACE and our artisan for the feature is the Collette Collection, Click on the link and you will find an amazing blue topaz. You will see a beautiful necklace.  This is amazing.  The wrap at the top of this pendant is delicious.

Collette has several places where you can find her amazing jewelry.  I will list them below, but at this particular site the pieces are stunning.

Like the one on the home page.  It is called Chantilly. This beauty was made by using beautiful grade AAA grade blue topaz and sterling silver.  Can't you just see this hanging around your neck?  I can. It is said that topaz promotes peace and calms the emotions as well as to soothe physical pain.

Here we have another piece called Celia. This amethyst is just to die for.  I love amethyst. Being a jewelry artisan myself and having done some wire wrapping, I can tell you that this is sheer perfection. Not one hiccup in this wire wrap. Now for the amethyst we are told that it helps to increase vivid dreams, relieves depression, promotes calm, serenity and spirituality.  It has also been know to help with addiction and stress.  Now that is what I call PEACE.

Shall I go on?  Oh yes, let's.  Here we have the Eclipse.  A wrapped focal using 12mm grade AA faceted smoky quartz and sterling silver along with some silver beads added for dimension.  It is a petite piece and hangs on a 16 in chain which is also sterling silver. And again we have a stone that promotes PEACE by its ability to aid in meditation and visualization.

This says it all and you will want to go see the amazing pieces on her website.  There is just not enough room here to show all of the products that my mouth was watering over. What's more, I had chosen the pieces that I wanted to share with you prior to even considering what the stones properties were so I think that is ultra amazing.

NOW
The Second Portion of the Blog

Now typically the second portion of the features are our own shops and I would love to show you some of the things that I have created, however, I want to be a tad different. I am going to try to showcase several of the other artists that I drool over.  How's that?

Well this piece reminds me of the song "Silver and Gold" on the movie Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer sung by Burl Ives.  This brings to me thoughts of Christmas which in turn showers peace over my soul, not because it reminds me of Rudolph, but because it is a reminder of the reason for the Christmas season which is of course Christ our Lord and personally, there is nothing more peaceful than these thoughts. This piece can be found at Handmade Artists Shop in the shop of Sterling by Dix.  Stop by and take a look around.

For another wonderful artist, I have chosen another Handmade Artist shop.  This one is by Soapmarked.  There are the most amazing scents offered here. Lavender being one of the most relaxing scents that I have ever used, this was the one I chose to showcase.

Now one more and again it is lavender but if spraying your linens or your room is more than you can handle and for some it is and I understand that, then you will want to try this for a lasting fragrance that is just a hint of scent leftover after your invigorating scrub.  Meet. the artists Norma of  Norma's Bath and Body.  First of all a sugar scrub is just downright heavenly and the scent of lavender again to me is just amazing.  Try it.

OK, that is it for me today.  You will want to definitely try out some of the links I have posted and be sure to go see Collette Collection here.

I'll be seeing you around the shop I hope, register and stop in the forum and say hello, you may find that you really like hanging out with us.

Be blessed

Memorial Day Honor

I just wanted to take a moment to honor those who have died in wars in this country.  They have either died for our liberation, our choices, and now to prevent others in the world from being conquered or from attempting to conquer us yet again.  I am not a believer in war, but I do respect those who have fought and died for us.  I spent many nights writing letters and putting together packages for those in Iraq and Afghanistan and possibly thousands of dollars overall.  I would do it all again.  Those serving deserve it. But out support of them while they are serving does not end there, it needs to continue.  The service men and women come back changed people and rightly so. It is hard for them to re-enter "normal" society, hard to not look over their shoulder, hard for them to forget the noises, the silences, the fears.  Many cannot ever forget because they have live with the physical daily reminders and they all also live with the emotional daily reminders.  They simply don't forget but many of us do. Let us NOT do that.

With permission from a friend on my facebook page I would like to add a few pictures to just bring an end to this day for us.  Let us always remember that Memorial Day is a day to honor the dead who have given us the life we lead today.

Thank you Matthew Thomas Zeimer.  Your sacrifice is honored today and I will always remember the things that you gave your life for.

I will always remember you.

I am sorry for what you have endured and I will see you on the other side.  Thank you to all those who gave their lives for me and the rest of us in this country.

Let us never forget.  Thank you to Sparrow Six-Five for the use of the pictures from her facebook page on this oh so personal blog today.

Be blessed

Second Week of Blog Ring Features

Flip flops, don't they just say "ok, it is springtime, spruce up them feet, polish up those toenails and let's get out and enjoy the sunshine."

This is my second week's post for our first theme of our new blog ring.  :P.  Did that make any sense?  Well it will.  Our latest blog ring as you know just started last week and this time around we are running the same theme for 2 weeks.  The first week as you know was on The Kitchens, owners and artisans who created the Handmade Artists site.  They do a wonderful job and I could post many, many posts about how good they are at what they do and how everyone at the site just loves them, because we all do truly love them.  However, I decided for the second week of the theme, I would do three separate shops, none of which will be my own.  We could choose shops from anywhere.  I choose to stick with shops at Handmade Artists because that is basically where I live and breathe, so why not promote the people there, I say.  So without further a do here we go.  I hope you like the items I have chosen.

You will love these daffodil earrings from
The Rodeo Rose

And doesn't this bracelet from Bead Wizard
just speak spring?

Now this is what I call Spring from Hartford Avenue Quilts
planting season right.  Well do it with one of these beautiful fabric pots. I just love these.

I hope that you have enjoyed these selections and that you will come over to the Handmade Artists site to take a look around for more lovely selections for sprucing up your spring time.

HANDMADE - SYNONYMOUS WITH KITCHENS

Our new blog ring feature has begun.  Remember, I posted day or so ago that it would be coming soon.  Our theme for this feature is spring.  I think the items I have shown below speak volumes about Spring. Spring is about renewal and beauty to me and there is nothing if not beauty below from the two shops that I am featuring here today.

This is our new way of featuring.  First you get the shops that are being featured. Here they are.

The Kitchens have two shops on Handmade Artists, but they are the force for us all and keep us all straight and moving forward.

MakinTheBestOfIt a wonderful shop that displays beautiful handmade creations.

Candide Altered Book Art

Here my first thought was of course, beautiful or as a friend of mine would say "beautimus".  Then I looked at it and being a bookworm myself, I am like "oh no, a book destroyed."  However, what better way to interpret a book.  This is Kimberly's interpretation of this one.  All the details are done by hand, the cutting the paper roses, everything.  Then she placed it in a shadow box an I would love to have something like this hanging in my boudoir. What says spring better than roses.

Chainmaille is the other half of this dynamic duo.

Sterling Silver Daisy Chain Necklace

This necklace is surely a one of a kind.  The amazing work on this chainmaille necklace impeccable.  Pair this with black strapless evening wear ladies and you will be the hit of the evening.  Everyone will be asking where in the world you get such a piece.

Now everyone looks for daisies in the spring, right?

From my own shop BeadThing

I chose this beautiful ring.  I just love rings. This ring is a 4 Leaf Clover from swarovski crystals and seed beads.  Can't you just smell the clover in the spring?

Now I get to choose one other shop, hmmm let's see, who will it be.  There are so many wonderful creations and artists to choose from.  Ok, how about this one.  Reef Botanicals.  Eric and Larissa are the driving force behind these absolutely, hands down, best smelling candles in the world, bar none. And HEY, what in the world says SPRING better than Lilac.  Oh, man, these are to die for.  Can't you just smell them already?

Stop by, take a look, and see what you might see.

Be Blessed

New Blog Ring Beginning for Summer

There is going to be a new blog ring for the summer over at Handmade Artists.  You will want to check back to make sure that you don't miss any of the latest features.  Everyone has been working really hard on their newest creations and I for one can't wait to begin showing them to you.

If you forget to stop by the blog to take a look, no worries, they will be tweeted and shared to Facebook as well so you have lots of places that you can take a look and you could also do a bit of sharing to your friends.  It is a good way to leave those oh so subtle hints for birthday, mother's day, Christmas.  Any of the holidays or just because days that you want to share with them.  It is never to early to share your wishes with those who will be shopping for you soon.

Check out the handmade artists site, to have a peek at just the possibilities of what you might be in store for.

Til then.

My Favorite Feature

Come on folks, get on over to YankeeBurrowCreations.  She has been adding lots of new things to her shop lately and I expect that will continue.  This creative artisan has some amazing items and you won't get bored looking through her shop.  She does a little bit of everything here. She has a little spot in NC that she calls home for herself, her best friend (hubby) her children and grandchildren and I know that she is looking forward to another grandchild within the next few months.  She raises, ducks, chickens and Lord knows what else in her spare time.  Right!  What spare time?  I tell you just talking with this artist makes me tired sometimes

Have you seen these yet?  Well you better hurry because I predict that these beautiful cards will not last long at all.  They are amazing and what's more they are from the actual drawings of Debbi's mother.  Simply amazing, worth getting for a keepsake.
But this is not all, YankeeBurrowCreations has been just a bit busy lately.  She has also created this beautiful cross.  Take a peek.

I love butterflies and it goes without saying that I love crosses, but this one, it is wonderful, I love the burgundy color with the textured look to it and with the addition of the butterflies, it just means hope and freedom to me.

For some other items you will find in her shop keep scrolling down the page.

Then of course there are all the other things that this gal can do.  Trust me when I say, there is nothing she cannot do, raise chickens, ducks, children, crochet, knit, quill, make jewelry.

She even does amazing photography.

I wonder if she gives lessons.  I'm in awe.

You can find her at the following places, so no excuses, just GO!!
