Helping Friends

I wanted to post this as a "SHOUT OUT" for Deb of daffydilljewelry.  You can find her FB page by clicking on Daffydills.  This wonderful artisan has like many of us fallen on some difficult times.  Her daughter has been diagnosed with a rare disease called Myasthenia Gravis.  This disease has apparently taken her breath, voice and ability to swallow.  She has gone from being on life support to making a weekly trip from her home in Kelowna BC to Vancouver BC which is over 500 miles round trip.  She has to make this trip weekly and someone has to go with her every time, too expensive to fly, bus is too long and stressful.  She can not be under any stress and the hospital won't release her unless she is accompanied by another adult who is familiar with her condition, etc. This family is merely trying to survive until she hopefully goes into remission and maybe with a lot of prayers lifted up to God a cure will be found.

You may wonder, how does someone in Port Orange, FL become involved with a complete stranger in another country so very far away.  Well, I understand what it is like to be in a position like theirs.  You know that you have to do something and you make every effort and then "wham" something else hits you.  Deb not only has her daughter to worry about and all us moms know what it is like to worry over our children especially when they are sick and there is absolutely nothing we can do to make it go away, but also, Deb's husband has begun having heart issues that the doctors don't seem to be able to figure out the cause of.  Numerous 911 calls and emergency room visits and no answers.

There is an auction on August 1, hey that's tomorrow yep.  The auction is for anything you would like to put up to be auctioned to raise money to help Deb get her daughter the help she so badly needs.  This family needs our help.  Does not matter whether you know them or not.  God tells us to help one another.  He did not say help the people you know.  He did say Give and it shall be given unto you.  Well, yeah, I need a door opened for a job.  Deb needs a healthy husband, and a healthy daughter.  Why, her daughter has 3 children and a husband that she needs to be around for, they need her, Deb needs her.  We all need Deb to continue with her artful jewelry creations.

The world will be a better place because we helped.  You know the "domino" effect.  You help someone and the domino's continue, to the point that you may never know just how much your one act of kindness may have affected the world.  That is the way it works and should work.  We all need each other, we are all connected.  Let's do our part.

The picture below is a photo of the piece I created for this auction.  Not much, but I truly hope that it helps in some small way.

May God's grace cover you Deb and Roberta and family.
